Delaware Water Gap, New Jersey Travel Guide

Complete Vacation, Recreation and Tourism Information

The Delaware Water Gap, a two mile long gorge, is located in the northwestern most region of the state, along the New Jersey/Pennsylvania border. It runs through the Kittatinny Mountains, and is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Used mainly for recreation, outdoor enthusiasts can hike, canoe or simply gaze at the gorgeous scenery in the mountains.

High Point State Park is linked in the northeast to the Delaware Water Gap Area through a 12 mile stretch of Stokes State Forest. This entire region is notable for camping, hiking, and fishing for walleye in the Delaware River, though there is a large bear population that calls this area home.
