Lush swamp, verdant forest and rolling farmland alternate with sinuous river in New Jersey's expansive Pinelands National Reserve, popular with paddlers, hikers, bikers and campers.
You'll find some of the best fast-water canoeing during high water on the Brokenstraw Creek between Garland and its confluence with the Allegheny River. Good launch points include the bridge south of Columbus, PA; in the town of Spring Creek; at the route 77 bridge below Spring Creek (watch out for low-hanging cables from here to Garland (12.3 miles); and from the junction of Route 27. From this latter launch to Buckaloons Campground, on the Allegheny River, makes a nice trip (about 12 miles).
We offer a compact version of Go-New-Jersey for mobile users, allowing you to access just the information you need on the road. Of course, you can still use the full version of Go-New-Jersey on your mobile device just as you can on your desktop.
