Sand-dusted barrier island, Long Beach, sits just off the New Jersey shore, a quiet place for most of the year but ever in demand come summer sunshine.
Montclair Art Museum has expanded substantially from its original collection of 54 paintings, and now counts amongst its holdings over 3,500 works of art. In addition to a strong showing by Montclair's artist "son", George Inness, a renowned landscape painter, the museum also boasts works by more contemporary artists like Andy Warhol, Georgia O'Keefe and Arshile Gorky. Be sure to have a look around the selection of Native American artifacts on display and enjoy some of the portraits and historic fine art works exhibited in MAM's 18th and 19th century galleries on a tour of this facility.
