  • Hoboken

Where one square mile has never packed such punch, Hoboken, New Jersey has activities, nightlife and cuisine for every palate. With a population of nearly 40,000, Hoboken caters to the young professional set that flock the ferry, the PATH trains and the buses every morning in pursuit of the Manhattan dream. It's the birthplace of Frank Sinatra and baseball, and is often considered a little extension of the island of Manhattan. The mile square is covered in apartment complexes, gorgeous pre-war brownstones and newly developed office buildings and bars along the waterfront.

  • Hudson River

Named for Henry Hudson, the English explorer, the Hudson River winds from the Adirondacks down through New York and forms the boundary between New York and New Jersey. The Hudson is a navigable river for much of its length and can be seen from the waterfronts of Battery Park City at the tip of lower Manhattan, and the Palisades in Alpine, New Jersey. Hoboken, Weehawken, Fort Lee, and Jersey City are bordered by the Hudson.
