West Orange is an affluent suburb of New York City, with nearly 45,000 residents. It is home to Seton Hall University, and Edison National Historic Site, which includes Thomas Edison's Queen Anne mansion. It is nestled in an area with plenty of historic sites and surrounded by several affluent suburbs including artsy Montclair, and Short Hills, home to one of the most upscale malls in the country.
Eagle Rock and South Mountain Reservations are located in West Orange offering hiking trails and biking and rock climbing. Eagle Rock has breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline at Lookout Point, while South Mountain houses Turtle Back Zoo, the largest zoo in northern New Jersey, with over 200 species.
Orange and West Orange are located just west of the Garden State Parkway in north central Jersey near Montclair and Livingston.
